Hi , i’ve got letter that my smear is low grade and they found hpv aswell. I had colposcopy and biopsy , becouse the found small abnormal place . Now I’ve got letter and they write me that is hpv and that is LOW grade CIN . And i have to wait for my biopsy results . I’m still worried from 2 months , from my smear results , I’m trying to be normal but I can’t , still think worse :( Please i need some help

    Hi Sara

    CIN means pre cancerous cells, not cancer. Most of the sexually active population will have the hpv virus, and some will be able to clear it, while some will not. 

    If something more sinister had been found on a biopsy, you would have been called back earlier for more tests, so try not to worry. Low grade abnormal cells may even clear on their own. xx
