hi can anyone give advice I had cyst on my ovaries doctor done ca125 said was slightly raised had it repeated this week still slightly raised so been referred back for gynaecologist appt .. does this mean ovarian cancer I’m worrying myself sick
it’s hard not to worry isn’t it have you any symptoms I don’t this all started coz of them investigating heavy periods no heavier than they’d ever been
Mine is 39 I think the doctor's receptionist put me into more of a panic than anything else, I do not think your silly for worrying at all. I am scared to be honest
hi just to put your mind at ease I had another test that had jumped higher I went for private consultation and she ruled out a lot even when the time of the month can affect reading
It's just frustrating I am just trying to stay busy. At 1st I noticed changes in my IBS and I had a couple of issues there. Then they is a pea size lump I have had a hysterectom 5 years ago for endometriosis
I just wanted to share my experience - I had some cramping and IBS issues and bloating which i went to GP with. He recommended a CA 125 test to rule out ovarian cancer. My test came back at 370 and i was referred for an ultrasound where they found a cyst on my left ovary and a smaller one in my fallopian tube. I was then sent for a CT scan and it came back that they were both benign. Relief was an understatement. But why was my CA 125 test still so high? I got it done again and it has fallen to 132 which is still above the threshold but my consultant has told me that it can be raised for a number of non cancerous reasons like endometriosis, where you are in your cycle etc.
I have been given a review appointment in 6 weeks time where i will have another scan and a discussion of my symptoms.
This was the worst month of my life - i was worried sick - and my live went on hold - so i understand totally what you are all going through. But I just wanted to share my experience to show that its not always the worst case scenario.
