Breast dimple

Hi there. I recently found a small (barely noticeable) indentation in my right breast. I have no other major symptoms, possible a cyst according to go who checked me out. Slight thickening and tenderness (not near the dent - other side of my nipple). I had a nipple infection last year in same side but nothing of concern since. Anyway, had an urgent referral to breast clinic as per protocol. Awaiting appt. I guess my question is (because I know the bad news it could be) is there any reason I could have a dimple like this, that would NOT be caused by cancer? Could a cyst cause the skin to adhere and dimple? I have fairly small boobs, 4 babies left them pretty much flat and saggy!!

Thank you xxx

  • Hello Redz4493,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. I hope you won't have to wait too long for your appointment. Unfortunately no one here would be able to give you specific medical advice on this but when you do have your appointment at the breast clinic, I am sure they will be able to explain things to you and answer questions you may have on this. 4 babies - you have been busy!

If you would like to talk to our nurses about this though, they may be able to give you more information on breast dimples - you can call them on this free number 0808 800 4040 - their line is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm.

I hope you will hear from other ladies here who have had a breast dimple before and that they will be along shortly to share their story with you.

Wishing you the best of luck for your appointment at the breast clinic. I hope everything goes well!

    Best wishes,
