Hi, I've had a bilateral biopsy and get my results next week.
Today a letter from the clinic arrived in the post.
It is the letter explaining what they found at my appointment.
Could someone please explain what P3, U4, M3 and P2 mean?
Thanks

Hello and thanks for posting,
These are part of a grading system to analyse biopsies,
There is a box on this link that explains this, it is for a medical audience though,
As you can see the following applies, p3 uncertain, u4 suspicious, m3 uncertain, p2 benign.
It is often the case that further investigations may be required if necessary, to gain more clinical information.
Unfortunately, we can't interpret this, or give you a medical opinion. If you can, do make contact with the hospital breast team, or your own GP, for further information.
Wishing you the best,
Vanda
Thank you. It helps to understand the letter they've sent me.
I get the results next week.
