BREAST CANCER AND SO SCARED

I am 69 years old and I have just been diagnosed with breast cancer.  I have a lot of questions to ask but when I go to the doctor I can't seem to remember any of them.

My hobbies are sewing and quilting and I hope I can continue to do this during my fight with breast cancer.  Does anyone else like to quilt or sew?

  • Hi Carole,

You're not the first person to have this problem, I once read a research paper which said that patients forget on average 60% of what it said to them in a consultation. I usually write down all my questions beforehand and also write down the answers I get. Once or twice I've sat in the car after a consultation with my Oncologist and read my notes and thought "I don't remember her saying that!"

I'm not much of a needlework expert myself, but my wife does a lot of embroidery and really enjoys it.

    Best wishes

    Dave
