Breast Biopsy - due to go on holiday next week!

Hi Everyone,

Monday (19th Aug) I had an appointment at the local Rapid Access Breast Clinic. The week before I noticed a smooth lump in my left breast that had not been there before, my Mom hasd very rapid breast cancer 11 years ago so I’m rather pedantic  about checking myself and categorially knew this lump was a new addition.

My GP was fantastic and I was referred right away, as I say the appointment date arrived within 4 days and I was seen within 6.  I’m 29 and expected an ultra sound and the possibility of a needle fluid aspiration however an ultra sound, two mammograms and a biopsy later here I am.

I am due to fly out to Mexico next week (29th Aug) and am in a total fret about if it’s right to go without knowing my results. The team at the hospital were amazing and did say they would try to book me in to see someone before I fly but that seems to be getting further and further away.

My Mom who has been through this all before advises me to go away, we’ve saved so hard for this trip ( I’m 30 while Im away) and she’s living proof that no matter where you are a few weeks away isnt going to change anything.

I just wondered what others thought?

One minute I’m out of my mind with worry and the next I just want to be on the beach with my other half celebrating being 30 just like anyone else.

Thanks in advance :)
