Hi I went into hospital last year with pneumonia, I had a couple of Xrays when I came out which were unsatifactory so I was sent for a CT scan which showed up a stage 1 nodule on my right lung.  I then had a Pet scan and a  needle biopsy which wasn't too bad but it showed it was malignant. I then had an op to take out one of the lobes on the right side. I have had several Xrays and CT scans and now they have found a.new subpleural  nodule on my left lung which is likely to be inflammatory, whatever that means.  I will be having another CT scan soon and will see my consultant in November to find out more.

  • Hello Bradarb and welcome to the forum.

I'm sorry to read about the nodules that have been found on your lungs, one of which was malignant, but it's good it's been found early so the doctors can investigate what's going on.

If you have any questions about what you've been told, like the new nodule on your left lung possibly being inflammatory do be sure to make a note of this and take it with you to your next appointment as your medical team will be able to explain what it means. They'll also be able to answer any other questions playing on your mind so do have a chat with them when you can so you can get any confusion cleared up.

I hope your next CT scan goes well and wish you all the best for your appointment with your consultant in November.

    Kind regards,
