Bowel cancer that has spread to the liver and lungs.

Hi there,

just wondering if anyone can help . My husband was diagnosed in March with a 7cm tumour in his bowel , ( fit and healthy non drinker or smoker ) unfortunately it has spread to the liver ( 15 tumours in total on both sides of the liver) and now we have found 3 small tumours on the lung.
I've done some research, but can anyone survive this ... no one is giving us a time line or staging . My husband is only 41 and we have two young children. I'm petrified ️ We find out his results in October but I want to prepare myself properly.

thank you x

  • It's like listening to what my Dad has been through. He is battling it 2 years now. January this year we were told it has spread to his liver and can't be operated on as his cancer has a rare genetic signature to it and is spreading too fast. He started a trial drug but is getting really bad side effects. Not much treatment options left after this, that will be as effective. As chemotherapy didn't work and surgery wasn't an option due to how aggressive it is. all they can do is try to give him more time with focused treatment on the liver.Unfortunately we have been told just to try make memories and do things he wants to do. But this is 2 and a half years in. Everybodys cancer is different. This is just what we have been going through. So sorry to hear about ur husband.

    Thinking of u x

  • Thanks for your reply, I'm so sorry to hear about your dad ! Hoping your making the most lovely memories together x I know everyone's journey is different but I think I'm just reaching for success stories ... don't think there are many out there now when it comes to this point .

    sending love and hope ️

  • Hello,

reasing your post really hit home with me. My mum is in a similar position and the unknown is the scariest thing

how are things now, did they start treatment?

    Emma x

  • Hey Emma,

I'm so sorry this is happening to your mum and yourself.  This is the cruelest disease and no one deserves to go through this . My wonderful husband has gone through his treatment and there is nothing they can do for him now .. however he found his cancer at a very advanced stage .
I'm  praying for your mum .... if you ever need to chat I'm here xx
