Bone scan results and anxious..!!

Dear all

Please can anyone help..??

I had my bone scan results on Monday and was told there was a couple of spots on my spine and in my hip joint. My oncologist is sending me for an MRI, but he thinks it's arthritis. Haven't suffered from arthritis before. This all came about from hip pain..

Has anyone else had any similar experience..??

The care I've received has been amazing..!!

I'm very strong and very positive like so many of you lovely ladies and men..!! Your all amazing..!! Xxx

  • Hi there ..

I've had bone problems for years ... you don't say your age .. but arthritis is quite common as we get older .. I was only early 40s when mine started ... once you get results, you can then find a plan to help keep as mobile as possible ... it's about listening to your body ... and resting when it tells you. .

Mine is in spine, neck, hand, and hip ... but I've done lots of things and learned ways of making the best I can living with it ...

Fingers crossed it's just arthritis ... let us know how you go ... Chrissie x

  • Hi Chriss,

    Ah bless you..!!

I'm 47 and up until 1 year ago I was a healthy 46 Year old.

Had a hysterectomy for prolapse and repair to bowel and bladder wall in March 2018, followed by Appendix in April 2018 and then a fibrous band removed from my sigmoid colon in May 2018. This then continued with upper gastric pain and 3 admissions for the excrutiating pain...Think I just liked hospital food.:D.

Before any of this my last visit to hospital was when I had my 12 year old son..!!

The  breast cancer being diagnosed in November 2018, Masectomy in December, then started the chemo in January. I have had fantastic treatment all the way through.

When my oncologist said about the spots on my spine and on my hip socket it threw me a bit.

Sounds as if you are not having a great time my lovely. But you are really postive and so very supportive..

    Yes, fingers crossed for arthritis.

Thank you so much for your reply.

    Hugs and love

    Marita xx

  • Hi Chriss,

Had my results from my Oncologist yesterday. Its not arthristis as I hoped.

I have to go for a full body ct scan, blood tests and urine test.

This is all to check if the growths in my bones are from secondries to the breast cancer or a new primary, Myeloma.....

Really not the results I was hoping for... :(

    Hope your doing ok...

    Marita x

  • Oh bless ya ... cancer sucks ... well you get all those emotions out, you must be feeling ... scream, cry, yell at the world ... then get those boxing gloves back on ... how dare it come back ... let's hope it's a new one and not secondary... but either way .. get back into that ring ...I'll be there with you .. with my pink boxing gloves .. you hit it from the front ... I'll hit it from the back ...

Always here hunny .. if you need it later , let me know and I'll send you a friend request .. so we can chat .. as I can't seem to accept them my end lately .. but your not alone I'm right here ...

Heres to kicking cancers *** again ...Big hug ... Chrissie

  • Hi Marita,

was reading your post which I know is from 2019 but wanted to ask how you are and about your journey. I was diagnosed with breast cancer in July 2019. Had cancer removed then radiotherapy. In June this year I started get hip pain when running. Thought I'd maybe over done it. Cut the running down and started again slowly. Hip pain still there. Pain like a dull ache but does go down the front of my leg to my knee. My consultant is sending me for a bone scan next week. I'm feeling 90 odd % sure it's probably arthritis but a little worrried and anxious.
