Bladder cancer

My son has  cancer which started in his diverticulum and has now spread too his  bladder an groin... Doctor in hospital told him it was incurable but treatable.. he went   too the meeting with the doctors today and they said he's got 2 too 3 month's too live if chemo doesn't work they are going too blast it with a high dose of chemo.. but why aren't they doing it for ten days  seems along time too wait for someone with an aggressive cancer.. anyone know why it's taking that long too get the chemo they said it's only because he's healthy he can  have it. I am so worried that having too wait the days he will get worse

  • Hello Celtlady

I'm so sorry to hear about your son's diagnosis. It's obviously an incredibly difficult time for you all.

It's understandable that you're anxious about the wait for him to start chemo. There could be any number of reasons that he's not able to have this treatment for another few days but I'm sure the team will be looking to get things started as soon as is possible.

If you'd like to talk things through with someone you're most welcome to call our team of nurses. I'm sure they will be happy to chat and to offer any information and support that they can. If you'd like to speak with them they're available Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm on 0808 800 4040.

Sending my best wishes to you both,
