I would go for mri theres th pain only noisy there maybe just being sure you may not have cancer but they probably want to find out what it is mris seen inside your tongue and nodes not just visualy ime not a dr but may be an infection causing the lymph nodes and tongue to swell up ive learned over past weeks how an infection can mimic cancer visualy they would have told you not to go otherwise so dont worry but go.paul

thanks for replying to my post I just feel really confused lately and like I’m wasting the doctors time don’t know whether anyone else has felt like this it’s just the way they look at you almost like why are you even here? I’ve recently just started to have outbreaks of sweating from the head and torso but if this is due to infection would it not show up when checking temperatures and show up on blood test? Sorry about all the questions but just don’t know how to feel about it all. The mri is for neck with contrast so will this cover the tongue?

its the waiting that’s hard and I know I probably sound so negative but just so confused

It could be anxiaty the sweating if your temps not up anxiaty can realy bowle you over i had to wait 4 weeks to see if i had cancer started to get to me to .a trip to gp and a chat might help i cant suggest anymore as ime just trying to give you a bit of support from my experiances just try not to worry see how mri goes dont worry about what they think one guy said to me they can check everyone i said tell that to my partner shes dead it shut him up but c your gp are you drinking plenty if your not sure try and measure it .p

i wouldn’t wish this on anyone it’s possibly the worst time ever going through urgent referral for suspected cancer and I have been through some tough times. It just helps a lot to know your not on your own. I will let u know how everything goes and once again thanks for replying it means a lot.

I understand it realy is the word cancer sends fear through us just try and relax we panic now we are bombarded by cancer charitys hawking for money and people saying we a rubbish parants if we dont take out a funeral plan they should camp down on it now .p
