Biopsy

Hi everyone   had a biopsy  on my tongue yesterday so now  got to wait very  frightened as I can not look on the postive side finding it all very hard to deal with and I no I'm not alone on this just nice to chat to someone in the same situation

  • Hello Kimmiecupcake and welcome to our forum

Waiting for results can be so stressful and I hope you won't have to wait too long to find out more. If you can, try to keep distracted while you are waiting and avoid looking anything up online as this will only make you more anxious. You are definitely not alone - others here have recently had a tongue biopsy and I hope that you will chat to someone else soon who has been in a similar situation. I did a little search  and found for example that a couple of months ago [@GBish]‍ and [@Carolina100]‍  posted on the forum about their own experience waiting for tongue biopsy results. You can read their stories here and on this page .

I hope you will get talking soon to others wo understand how you are feeling at the moment.

    Best wishes,

  • Hi Kimmiecupcake

I have an appointment for a tongue biopsy on 11 September. I was referred on the 11 March so it’s been a long and worrying wait. I don’t know how long the wait is for the results will then be. Just want to let you know you are not alone and it’s hard not to think the worst. I’m also worried about how the biopsy will be. I’ve heard that it’s very painful and I will have trouble eating and speaking for a while afterwards due to the pain. What were your experiences of the biopsy? X

  • Hi Caroline I'm not going to lie it does hurt but I just looked at it that it's got to be done I did the stupid thing and just kept on googling worrying even more I think what's hard as well is giving up smoking which iv done for 30 years  but I'm going to get there and stop . I hope every thing goes well and if you need a chat  it would be nice to be there for each other if we're going threw the same thing  xx
