Bia alcl support

So I'm writing this after a long journey and wanting advice and help, I'm 40 years old first had implants 20 years ago, then after capsular contracture replaced 10 years later, they never felt right, were hard always looked different, was embarrassed holiday with husband and kids in bikini so may 2018 finding surgeon to remove after them without replacement went ahead as has capsular contracture again. Implants removed capsule left in. 10 days post op swelling to left breast seroma 150ml clear fluid drained, o we the next year I had 13 seromas drained 6 from one breast 5 from the other ( paid all privately ) then they started injection steroids into breast cavity to try and revive seromas surgeon finally said after a year I was high risk bia alcl ( I had never heard of this ) they finally sent off sample ( this was the smallest sample they had ever taken 30 ml ) came back clear, I have since found out they need 100ml to diagnose ! So I year after first op to remove they now remove both skin capsules that were left in a year ago when implants were removed, that was may 2019 this year I now have developed another seroma, I just want to shout help me! As the doctors don't seem to want to listen after 13 drains both operations , I've 40./. Of my hair , have night sweats , Sjogren's syndrome, joint pain , ibs, rynards syndrome, and now don't know where to turn, feel like they just want to cover up this illness, I have 2 children and I'm worried, want doctors to test me properly

  • Hi Keel1979,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. It certainly sounds like you've been through a lot recently and I can imagine it's worrying and frustrating.

The only thing I can really suggest is to write down all your concerns/questions, and make an appointment to discuss these with your doctor - or a different doctor if you feel like you're not being listened to. It's important that you're fully informed and that you have peace of mind.

You may wish to discuss this with one of our nurses for any potential additional advice - if so, you can reach them on 0808 800 4040 - Monday-Friday, 9-5.

    Wishing you all the best,

    Ben
