Hi John,

Your humour and comment about animals made me smile from the miserable place I am right now due to an assortment of cancer drug side effects or "adverse events" as they seem to be called. (I am on targeted therapy for stage 4 lung cancer.) You sound like you have got a fair share of challenges with all this but as you say, there are so many people younger than us going through it.

Anyway, Happy Birthday for Thursday. You are getting an unusual gift! Let's hope it helps you.

I hope you don't mind me asking but what were your initial symptoms? I've had ongoing throat issues for a while but I am too scared to go to the GP

Hi john I am waiting to see the head and neck specialist for a large hard lump on my neck finally picked up the courage to go see the gp about it and they have sent an urgent referral I was a bit upset about it but I sat and thought I have seen my children grow up and settle and have thought I am lucky many people didn't get that chance ( including my own husband ) so I will take what comes and seeing your attitude gives me strength good luck with your treatments and I hope all goes well with a positive outlook
