Been checked by GP have been referred for a ultrasound scan

Hi I’m jack recently I’ve been having some groin pains and lower back pains wich I’ve ignored due to my job I lift heavy stuff, but in the last week I found a lump on my left testicul I’ve been to the doctor and he’s referred me to have an ultrasound scan wich has got me worried, I’m struggling to wrap my head around the situation because I never thought something like this could happen.

what can I expect when I have the scan and how fast will I get the results through.

  • Hello Jackyboy1992,

I am sorry to hear that this lump you have found on your left testicle is making you so worried. The doctor has taken the right steps in referring you to have an ultrasound scan and it won't be long now until you get some answers.

We have some detailed information on our website on this page about what to expect during and after the ultrasound scan. It mentions that "you usually get your results within a few weeks of your test and your specialist will give them to you. Your GP may also receive a copy of the results."

I hope this helps and hopefully you will also hear from other forum members who have had this scan before.

    Best wishes,
