BCG

Hi all

my husband went for his 6th BCG treatment  and they wouldn't give him it as there was a small amount of blood in the urine and a small black something. They said it was normal and nothing to worry about and he could have the 6th the following week. Today he has cloudy urine and i am worried he has an infection. Anyone out there had this before. Cheers

  • Hello there Renny and thanks for posting

I am sorry to hear your husband is currently having treatment and appreciate you have some questions.

The BCG treatment can unfortunately cause side effects for patients and it isn't unusual for patients treatment to need to be paused for a week or so whilst these settle down.

Hopefully the cloudy urine won't be the result of an infection but I am sure the team will assess him before he has the treatment to make sure it is safe to do so.

Please get back to us if you need any more information or support.  You may find it helpful to talk things through with one of the nurses on our helpline.  The number to call is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and the lines are open from 9am till 5pm Monday to Friday.

    Best wishes to you both

    Naomi
