Barrett’s Oesophagus

Having been recently diagnosed with Barrett's I was wondering if anyone has any advice they could offer as concerning day to day living. At the minute I just feel kind of numb. I'm also awaiting results from biopsies taken from my colon and oesophagus.
Anyone willing to chat or otherwise would be greatly appreciated.

  • Hi SamNI and welcome to the Cancer Chat community.

I'm sorry to hear you've been diagnosed Barrett's Oesophagus. Receiving a diagnosis of any kind can be a huge shock so it's only natural to be feeling a bit numb at the moment Sam, so do be kind to yourself whilst you wait for your biopsy results to come through.

Hopefully some of our members will offer their advice about day to day living soon but in the meantime, I just wanted to make you aware of another member who was recently diagnosed with Barrett's Oesophagus. Their name is Odell and you can find out more about them just here.

You're also welcome to talk things through with one of our cancer nurses on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m. They're very supportive and will do all they can to answer any questions you may have and put your mind at ease.

We're here for you Sam and will have our fingers crossed the biopsy results bring good news.

    Kind regards,

    Steph, Cancer Chat Moderator
