I know a while back Breast reconsutrctions were cancelled because of COVID. Anyone know if that's still the case? Has anyone had one recently and how long did you have to wait?
I know from your other posts that this is something that you're quite worried about at the moment. I am aware of women posting to say that they have been able to have surgery with immediate reconstruction and also that delayed reconstructions are going ahead. Equally I know that in many areas of the country this is not something that hospitals are still not able to offer.
It's obviously something that's concerning you and it's difficult while you're still undergoing chemo as things may change again between now and your surgery date.
I can see that you've mentioned previously that your Consultant won't really engage in a conversation with you about why they are recommending one type of surgery over another. I wonder if you had considered writing to your Consultant explaining all your questions and concerns. You could send this direct to them but you may also want to consider contacting your hospital PALS department as part of their role is to facilitate communication.
I hope that whatever happens that you feel the right decision has been made for you.
