anyone with similar diagnosis

Anyone out there with advanced prostate cancer that has spread to spine causing nerve damage?

  • Hi, yes unfortunately I think I come somewhere within that category. From a scan they say there's a disc protusion at L4/5 "impinging upon the L5 nerve route causing left sided lower limb radiculopathy". I've only been diagnosed a couple of months (advanced prostate cancer) but physio has helped tremendously with the pain and mobility in my left leg and hip. How is the nerve damage affecting you and have you found anything effective to counter it? Best, Pete

  • Hi Peter. I’ve not been diagnosed with prostate cancer as I’m a woman. However I was diagnosed with Chordoma Bone Cancer of the spine in 2009 and am still ongoing with surgeries so can give you advice or whatever you’re looking for with regards to nerve damage, mobility etc?? Hope this helps, Jenna :)
  • Hi Jenna many thanks for that. I'm not getting on too bad with physio at the moment and seem to be marginally improving mobility-wise, and oramorph for pain is just fantastic but I may well take you up on your offer of advice. I do wish you all the best with your surgeries, it's nice to see someone smiling on here! :)

  • Hello Jenna

i came across your reply while searching for others with spinal chordoma. I know it's an old post now but I wondered if you had any advice for me?
