I’m so sorry you’re going through this.

i had an itch all over my body, night sweats and then had a lump come up on my neck. Did they say whether they are doing a fine needle aspiration or surgical biopsy?

the tests can take quite a while - I’m not going to lie! Took two weeks for my ultrasound. Then I had to have a surgical biopsy.

i hope yours is more positive, mine was found to be Hodgkin’s lymphoma. Please try not worry about it - I know that’s hard to say because that’s all you’ll do.

I am down for one of these next week. Some thing showed up on my pet scan I had for lung cancer,That’s all I needed. They say mine is Laryngocele lesion.i like you are freaking out. Apparently it’s a pouch near my voice box.

Thanks for the reply and I’m sorry to hear your results. 

I went on holiday for 2 weeks and came back to find the following are booked for me over the next 2 weeks:

- MRI scan with some kind of dye

- Fine needle aspiration biopsy for lymph nodes 

- surgical biopsy for “mass” at back of the nose 

How long did it take for you to get results? I just want it all over with - the not knowing and waiting is just awful.

just be aware your fine needle aspiration and biopsy can be different. I Can’t talk for mri as I had PET scans and CTs.

also my biopsy was scheduled as an emergency so I got  the results in 10 days as they needed to start treatment asap.

Hey, I’m ok... get waves of freaking out and then waves of calm. 

I have the MRI scan with a dye this afternoon and then biopsy under general anaesthetic on Tuesday. 

Then will just have to wait which is the worst bit!! 

Waiting is awful. Ive had swollen nodes in my neck, fever and chills for nearly 3 months now and am still waiting to see a hematologist. Its so hard not to panic! 

I hope today goes okay for you, I'm sure you will be glad to get these tests out of the way. Let us know how you get on. Hugs x

Whoa! 3 months?!! That must be so hard and horrible! I hope you’re doing ok. 

I had the MRI which wasn’t pleasant but was ok. Went on for 50 minutes! One thing I’m unsure of is do I have to call and get results or does the ENT doctor write to me?  

The doctor referred me under the 2ww but the hematologist down graded it to "urgent" which means I am meant to be seen in 8 weeks but they are running behind :( 

Jeepers I didnt know MRI's lasted that long. That would be difficult! I'm unsure about results, hopefully someone else will comment that knows! Did they say how long it would take? Maybe ring the MRI department on monday and ask them?
