Hi Liliana. I'm not medically trained but did quite a lot of research on my own diagnosis. From my understanding Grade describes how different and fast growing the abnormal cells are from normal cells. I was diagnised with grade 2.

Invasive ductal carcinoma is the most common type of breast cancer and the invasive bit means that it had come outside the milk ducts into the soft tissue next to it. This was also my diagnosis.

Hormone therapy is offered where it is found that the cancer cells are stimulated to grow by oestrogen (ER+) or progesterone (PR+). The therapy blocks this stimulation. I am ER+ so am on tamoxifen. Yes there are some risks but the risk of developing ovarian cancer is quite  small. From what I have read, the introduction of hormone therapy has had a dramatic effect on breast cancer survival and recurrence rates so for me it is a chance I'm willing to take. Also when compared to chemo side effects the hormone therapy is much more tolerable.

I've been on it a month now and other than hot flushes and a little bit or irritability it's been ok. If you are concerned you can talk to your oncologist about it and they will hopefully be able to clarify things a bit better than I have hun x
