Anyone been diogonesed with Vin3.

Hi ,I'm having a lot of health issues.ive had breast cancer, a lumpectomy, lymph nodes.were removed as 3 contained cancer. I finished chemotherapy in December 2020, and radiotherapy in March 2021. I have mild lymphedema in right arm ,I know have trigger thumb in right hand , Impingement and atheritus in my right shoulder and also inflamed rotater cuff in same shoulder.  I have plantar fasciitis in my left heel. Plus I've bern having pain in my right breast where I had the cancer, and found a lumo on Christmas day ,well night actually.  I am waiting on an ultrasound, as my breast care nurse doesnt think it's anything to worry about but said she's not 100% sure that what we both could feel, isn't the cancer returned. She said ultrasound should be within 4 weeks time ( one weeks allready passed).I also had to see a gynecologist on December 8th 2020,and only just got the results( after calling loads of times ) from the biobsy he took that day.  The results being I have Vin 3 ,pre cancerous cells,I was told by a member of my gynecologist admin staff after trying to chase up my results ,she told me my oncologist has two option's for you, but he will contact you about it all.

Anyways a week on ,and i still hadn't heard anything back.i tried calling  but no one picked up my call,so I called my GP surgery to see if they had had anything back they hadn't,so they got my GP to call me the next evening after surgery. She said she still hadn't heard anything back, apart from what I told her that I had vin 3,I told her I was worrird ,as when I first saw the gynecologist, he had said that if it turned out to be pre cancerous cells,he would just monitor it,and I'd said I didnt like the sound of that id rather it be removed . My GP  said  its not Vin 1 or Vin 2 but it's Vin3 I can't see him just leaving it and monitoring it,she said options would probably be surgery ,or a cream that  you use for 6 mths and that it works on yiur immune system and can sometimes stop the vin 3. She said there was also lazer treatments but she'd read it wasn't as successful, as surgery or the cream. She said she'd try to chase up things for me,as I had so much health issues going on ,and knew how worrird I must be.

Anyway the next day ( Friday just gone (  I got a call from the same admin lady who said my oncologist waa writing to my doctor and to me and he's decided to just monitor me and wants to see me in clinic in 3 months tine. I said I'm.not happy about that just being monitored, I thought I'd have options, but she said he's decided against surgety as its such a small area,I said I still wasn't happy as my Gp had said as it was Vin 3 she didn't think it would just be left and monitored, I tokd her my GP had told me about the cream that could be used,so she said you could try and ask your GP to prescribe it. But I don't think my GP will be able to,I think it will have to be the gynecologist, but I'll ask my GP and talk to her,as I'm not happy about just being monitored, I thought I had option's but my gynecologist hasn't really given me any ,he's decided without even bringing me in or calling me to discuss it. Has anyone else had this ie just being monitored with Vin 3?. As I've already had a right side bowel resection, and breast cancer,I thought that now being diognosed with vin 3,because of my cancer history they would do more than just watch it. My way id thinking why leave it just because its a small area, surly it would make surgery and recovery easier if it's a small area, rather than watch it get bigger, and potentially turn into csncer, why not nip it in the bid now,and stop all my anxiety and worry, as I don't know what's going to be found in my breast, whrn I eventually get my ultrasound,I'm hoping nothing will be found, but its a lot to cope with.

  • Hello Jassoscared

I'm so sorry to hear that on top of everything that you've been through that you've now been diagnosed with VIN 3. Life really isn't fair.

It's understandable that you're feeling anxious about things and of course, you want to make sure that the right treatment decisions are made. We do have quite a few posts here on the forum made by women who have a diagnosis of VIN. If you use the forum search function to look for the term "vin" you'll be able to read through some of those posts.

You've clearly got a lot going on at the moment so I'm going to suggest that you give our team of nurses a call to talk things through. I'm sure they will be happy to offer any advice, information, and support that they can to help you decide what you want to do next. If you'd like to chat with them they're available Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm on 0808 800 4040.

I really hope that you're given some support and reassurance with this diagnosis. Keep in touch and let us know how you get on.

    Best wishes,
