Am I worrying over nothing?

I found a small lump in my right breast a couple of months ago. It's quite solid and small and roundish and doesn't move freely. It's just below my nipple and I can pinch it between my fingers and see the outline when I do. It hurts a bit when I do that but I think that's just the skin around it being pinched.

So that's in my right breast. Recently I've also been worrying about my left armpit seeming a bit bigger/fatter than my right one (I've gained nearly 2.5 stone sine first lockdown so kinda thought my armpit might just be fatter. Also I've been getting pimples/green/yellow topped spots under my left armpit (the bigger one).

So, both things I mentioned are on opposite sides so it doesn't seem obvious that they're related. I've made 2 gp appointments but I've been really tired lately in a morning and have overslept and missed both. I experience quite hightened anxiety and just thinking I'm being paranoid

  • Hello and thanks for your post.

Unfortunately, this forum isn't really meant for people with symptoms, as we can't really suggest a diagnosis.

Overall, breast problems that are not serious are quite common in younger women, and breast cancer would be unlikely.

You do need to get your GP to assess you, and hopefully reassure you. So try and set your alarm, and make an effort to attend a GP appointment, as these can be hard to come by at the moment, given the pressure from the current pandemic.

I hope that this reply helps,

    Best wishes,
