Am I over thinking it?

Last year I had cin 3 removed from my cervix and was given the all clear.

the last couple of months I have been feeling really out of sorts, fatigued, bloating, tummy pains, frequent toilet trips , toilet habit changes I went to the doctors and was tested for URI there wasn’t one.

I had a blood test and it came back with low b12 and raised c25 protein.

i then had an internal exam and the doctor found a polyp and a slight prolapse only a year after having cub cells removed. I have been referred for an ultrasound to look at my pelvis in more detail.

I am really worried about the possibilities of what this could be.

Am I overthinking it?

thanks

  • Hello Jlolo,

Thank you for posting a question. I am sorry to learn that you are waiting to have an ultrasound. I can appreciate that this must be a concerning time.

The types of symptoms that you have can be related to a number of different conditions and not all of these are serious. So until you have had the ultrasound and the results are available it is not possible to know what might be the matter. But I doubt that it will be related to the abnormal cervical cells, because it looks like these were treated successfully.

You also mentioned a raised C25 protein, I wonder if you mean CA125 ?  If you are referring to this, once again it does not really tell you very much. This is particularly the case if it is only slightly elevated.  I mention this because the CA125 can go up in a number of different conditions, for example liver problems, pelvic inflammatory disease, fibroids which are benign non cancerous growths in the womb and benign and cancerous ovarian cysts. Some of these conditions may also cause similar symptoms to those that you have.

Hopefully you will have the ultrasound scan soon as waiting for tests and the results can be very stressful. I am sorry that I cannot be more specific, but I hope that this reply is of some use. Please get back to us if you have any other questions.  If you would like to telephone  the number to call is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and the lines are open from 9am till 5pm Monday to Friday (closed public holidays).
