After stage 3b rectal cancer

Hi everyone!

My hubby was diagnosed with stage3b rectal cancer in May 2022. He finished all treatment and had APR surgery after chemo and chemoradiation were done. He has a permanent colostomy. 

His biopsy results were clear and said he had a complete pathological response.

Now the question - did anyone had a complete pathological response and hot the cancer back? I know its silly to ask but I just want to know.
