    Hi Carol,

I am so sorry to hear about your Mum's diagnosis.

Have you spoken to any of your mum's care team? I am sure that they can advise you where to turn to for help. Macmillan have a place in most hospitals and know exactly what benefits your mum should be entitled to. Your local Citizens' Advice Bureau should also be able to help her. It is handy to have somebody who knows the system to fill out the application forms as some of these are brutes.

I do hope that you can get some additional financial help for her. A diagnosis like this is bad enough without having financial worries on top of all of this.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx

  • I also have stage four lung cancer, but only in my lung, so not as bad as your mum which I am sorry about. Macmillan benefits applied for pip as I am 63, as your mum is older they can get her on attended allowance. Do get in touch because they fill in the forms for you. Take care
