Advice

Hi,

A family member was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer early last year, they have had various types of treatment to control the cancer not treat as unfortunately it is beyond curable :( the cancer spread to the brain and was treated also with good affect.

In the last 10-12 days they have become very lathargic and feeling unwell and having a lot of abdominal and back pain and really struggling to go to the toliet , back and forth to a&e over the last week.

It is very strange as sometimes there is no pain and appears completely fine and then in a matter of hours we are in the sane situaution again severe abdominal pain and nauseous.

Doctors dont seem at all intrested and im literally at my wits end with worry.

Are we nearing the final stages? Or is this just an awful syptom that comes along with the cancer?

  • Hi Em13,

I'm sorry to read about your family member and what they and you are all going through at the moment, it sounds like a tough time.

Unfortunately no-one here can really answer your question - the only person or people who may be able to are those involved in the care of your family member. Do make sure you speak to them if possible if you have worries - it's of course important to be as informed as possible.

In the meantime if you'd like to discuss anything with our nurses, you can reach them on 0808 800 4040 - Monday-Friday, 9-5.

    Wishing you all the best,

    Ben
