Abdominal lumps / enlarged lymph nodes?

Right now I'm convinced I have lymphoma. I can't think of anything else it can be and I'm so frightened. Basically I can feel A LOT of lumps / (possibly) raised enlarged lymph nodes throughout my abdomen. They are everywhere, of various sizes, some feel very small and others more pea sized maybe bigger. I've never ever felt these before. A lot of them are tender, but some are completely painless. Some are moveable and some not as much. They are located all over from under breast bone , down and across, even deep down in my right side where my waist is. Other symptoms I have are abdominal pain which moves to various areas in my stomach, but mostly it's where the lumps are. A bit of bloating.I get nausea most days but still eating normally etc. No night sweats or itching or anything but I am now having a horrible pain in my right side, my left mid/upper, and right across my lower back. In October I had blood tests due to extreme fatigue & it showed I had an extreme B12 Deficiency of 108. I have to have injections for life because of this as I cannot absorb B12 from food. I also got diagnosed with fibromyalgia and my blood tests also showed slightly elevated liver enzymes of 74. Doc then arranged a full liver profile which were all clear and the liver enzymes have now decreased to 48, so still a bit high but not too bad. Doc just said "some people get raised enzymes from time to time but it's probably just a bit of common fatty liver!". He also arranged a load of other bloods including lymphocytes and the usual inflammation / tumour markers which were all ok, but whilst this is reassuring, I've read sooo many things online where bloods tests are normal with lymphoma even at later stages so I don't really think they are reliable.....

Anyway the lumps/nodes that I have found (whatever they are) are a new thing. Doc said he couldn't examine me due to COVID but said he's happy to refer me to a gastroenterologist as I'm also in pain with a bit of bloating and elevated liver enzymes. Thankfully I have private medical insurance so I'm seeing him on Tuesday next week. I'm sooo worried. How likely is it that this is lymphoma? I should also note I have a raised node in my neck and groin that have been there for 12 years, I had them biopsied 10 years ago and they were fine. The doctor said at the time that they must have just been a reaction to a trauma I went through back then, or an infection somewhere. Thing is I have never EVER heard of anyone having lumps or raised nodes throughout their whole abdomen! And everything I read online screams lymphoma :( I keep thinking how on earth can it be anything else other than this! All I do is sit there and feel my abdomen to see if they've got bigger. As you can tell I do have major health anxiety and always convince myself of the worst. But if anyone with lymphoma or knows anything about could take the time to reply I would be so grateful. Thank you xx

  • I could have written this myself!!

I have what feels like multiple lumps throughout my abdomen on both left and right sides and maybe some lymph node swelling, no lumps there so can't tell really.

I had blood tests done yesterday so should get some results in a couple of days.

Currently just hoping and keeping everything g crossed and staying positive.

but I feel you... no other symptoms really apart from tenderness in my abdomen when I push around.

  • I had some scans and they said fatty lumps not tumours.

although now currently 10 months later I'm getting the same pains after they disappeared almost a year. And now a twinge in my upper back the last 3-4 weeks.

  • @Butterfly1987 I am the same, I can feel what I think are lymph nodes around my upper abdomen area. They feel round, hard and roughly marble sized. I am really worried too. Currently waiting on scan. They can't be felt when lying down, only standing. All bloods normal. I have gallstone symptoms, but that doesn't explain the lumps. Have you got any further in your investigations?

  • Anyone have any luck with finding out more on this. I have the same thing. I suffer lipomas if that helps anyone. I was worried that it was my pancreas as I have mid back pain and a strange tingling sensation in the upper right of my abdomen where the lumps are.

  • Hi,did you find out what these lumps were? My whole abdomen and sides are covered in them too.Exactly how you described them.Im 41 and ive been bloated in the upper abdomen and had heartburn for the last 3 weeks now I'm convinced I have stomach cancer that's spread all over the peritoneum.I haven't been to the doctors yet as they blame everything on my anxiety and make me feel like I'm wasting their time.

  • Hey Nic,

I noticed you were hoping to find out how Butterfly1987 got on but unfortunately they haven't been on the forum in almost a year so you may not hear back from them I'm afraid. If you don't get a reply it may be worth posting on more active discussions about this or if you'd prefer, starting your own discussion.

I'm very sorry to hear about your symptoms. They sound like they are causing a lot of discomfort. If things don't improve it would be best to go to your GP as they will be able to tell you whether they are any cause for concern. Hopefully this won't be the case but it's always good to get any unusual symptoms checked if you can, if only for peace of mind.

    Kind regards,
