A little worried ….

Hey ladies,

I don't know if I'm just over worrying. I'm 36. I've had breast cancer five years ago and I also have a mutation in the braca2 gene. Ovarian cancer is always something I've worried about. The past few weeks I've felt really tired slightly light headed and not to be too graphic I've had excessive vaginal discharge so I went to doctors and they done bloods which show my white blood count is higher than normal and my iron levels are low. They are repeating tests again in a couple weeks but I am worrying and possibly over thinking it?

  • I'm sorry to read what's troubling you Reenie-M.

Not knowing the cause of your current symptoms must be very tough but it's good to hear the tests are going to be repeated to check whether this is a one off or something that needs a bit more further investigation. If it turns out to be the latter, it doesn't necessarily mean it's anything sinister so if you can, try not to jump to any conclusions or think the worse until you know more.

I know that's much easier said than done, as do many of our members, who I'm sure will pop by when they can to offer your their support and advice. In the meantime, I hope this article I've included on how to cope with waiting for news will help you over the next two weeks.

Fingers crossed everything will be o.k Reenie-M.

    Kind regards,
