3rd time lobular

Hello all,  just absorbing the shock of a third diagnosis. I am expecting a surgical menopause and a change in hormone treatment as well as taregeted and radiotherapy.

I have a racing mind as a busy working mother who loves to travel I think I will be demented on all this medication, not sure how I will cope and the side effects... Always love to chat and especially interested to see how the oopherectomy and ibrance ladies are doing... Ash

  • Hi, I’m so sorry to hear your news. I was diagnosed with lobular breast cancer on 2nd July for the first time. I had a lumpectomy and then another operation last week as margins weren’t clear. My nodes were clear and I have been told I probably won’t need chemotherapy but have read that lobular cancer has a higher recurrence rate, so a bit worried about this. I’m waiting to see the oncologist about radiotherapy and hormone treatment, what have you been on up to now?  I’m keeping fingers crossed for you, can’t believe you’ve had to go through this 3 times. Sending lots of positive thoughts your way. Alison x

  • Hi Alison... So sorry you are hear too. Back in 2006 I took tamoxifen for 5 years. By the time I got the second diagnosis I was well off it but they then recommended 10 years so I started it again... I stopped it a few weeks ago after another 4 years because now they need to make me menopausal and maybe start arimidex along side ibrance. Always hormone positive and Her 2 neg on this journey...
