Why volunteer?

  • A chance to work in a friendly team, to make new friends and meet a diverse group of people
  • The opportunity to make an invaluable contribution to Cancer Research UK’s goal of helping 3 in 4 people surviving cancer by 2034
  • The time to develop your confidence and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to gain valuable work experience to add onto your CV and to learn new skills
  • The potential of gaining a national recognised qualification (NVQ)
  • The chance to gain valuable retail experience

As little as two hours a week can make a huge difference so why not sign up today and play your part right now in in helping us to beat cancer sooner? Check out the range of volunteer roles we have available below:

Volunteer Customer Service Assistant - be the face of Cancer Research UK and help ensure that our customers receive a warm welcome to our shops!

Volunteer Visual Merchandiser - help us to select and prepare the best clothes, shoes and accessories for sale on the shop floor. You’ll create eye catching window displays and may also be asked to help price garments to generate maximum income.

Volunteer Deputy Shop Manager – a varied and responsible role where you’ll be supporting the Shop Manager with the day-to-day running of the shop. You’ll be encouraged to lead on new projects and you may also be asked to provide cover when the manager is absent from the shop.

Volunteer Shop Fundraising Assistant - Whether you’re getting involved with a fundraising event that we’re organising in store or going out in the local community to get creative organising your own event, you’ll be having fun, raising life-saving funds and inspiring others to do the same.

Volunteer Stock Processing Assistant - work behind the scenes sorting and preparing goods for sale in the shop. With your help we’ll be able to spot the hidden treasures amongst donated items which will help raise vital funds to beat cancer sooner.

How do I get involved?
