‘Thea was diagnosed with Wilm’s tumour in 2004, when was just six years old.

Thea’s tumour in her kidney was absolutely huge. She had some chemotherapy to shrink it. It made her so ill, but she was just relieved to be receiving treatment. Even when she lost all of her beautiful long, dark hair, she still never complained.

Thea is living proof that research works and it needs to continue. She’s now studying health and wants to go into paediatric oncology. I'm so proud of her. I don’t know whether we would have been able to see this without people supporting Cancer Research UK through their Wills. I just think it's amazing.’

The gifts we receive are vital because our discoveries don’t happen overnight, and it can take over a decade to develop an effective new drug or treatment. They provide the future funding power and long-term investment which allows the continued success we are seeing.
