Cycle Volunteer - Shine Night Walk - London - 23rd September 2023

Shine Night Walk Volunteers
London
Sat 23rd September 2023
Community-based roles
Time commitment:
One day

Why we need you:

On Saturday 23rd September, 10,000 walkers will be walking 10K, half or full marathon to raise over an incredible £2 million for Cancer Research UK – but they need you to help them achieve their marathon challenge!

Having the amazing support and endless enthusiasm of some friendly faces truly makes Shine an unforgettable experience. Join the Shine Volunteer Team and help us to beat cancer.

What will I be doing?

You’ll be a part of our zone teams, alongside course volunteers, helping to ensure the safety and welfare of each and every walker. Using your cycling skills you’ll be able to cover a section of the course to be instrumental in assisting walkers and keeping morale up amongst your zone team by helping to get hot drinks and other facilities out to course volunteers.

As well as a confident cyclist we need great communicators too so if you have your own bike, a helmet and front and back lights for your bike then sign up now and be part of a life-changing team.

‘I had previously run 28 marathons and I know what motivation can do to boost efforts in later stages of that distance. None of which prepared me for the fellow enthusiastic volunteers and the Herculean drive of the participants…the Shine Night event is truly one of a kind and I feel honoured and moved to be a part of it.’

Jon, Cyclist Volunteer
