Norwich has the opportunity to make a huge impact on the pioneering and vital work carried out by Cancer Research UK, by organising a business dinner event with the aim of raising £40,000 for life-saving research. We are looking for a new board of highly dynamic and driven volunteers from the world of business to form a new Business Beats Cancer board.

Do you long for the day when all cancers are cured? Did you know that Cancer Research UK is the only charity with the knowledge and expertise to tackle all 200 types of cancer?

If you want to meet like mind people beating cancer, increase your local network and help bring forward the day when all cancers are cured, then look no further.

What will you be doing?

This is a high-level project, so you should have an excellent network in the business and professional communities within Norwich and the surrounding area and to be willing to open these networks to benefit the activities of the Business Beats Cancer board. We are looking for a range of experience and capabilities that would could include anyone:

  • With marketing and event management experience, for example a Marketing or Communications Director
  • From a legal background who is diligent and has attention to detail, who understands the importance of compliance
  • With experience of high level event management
  • From a professional services background who has an excellent network of business contacts, for example, financial services, stockbroking.

The type of person we’re looking for?

In terms of personal qualities, we are seeking to recruit confident, dynamic individuals who are willing to commit time to see this project from beginning to end. You will need to be ambitious, tenacious and not afraid to make ‘the ask’. You should also be approachableflexible and able to work as part of a team, as that will be key to the board’s success.

Where will this role be based?

This is a home based role in Norwich, however part of your role will include attending board monthly meetings in the local area.

How much time do you need to commit?

As this is a flexible volunteering opportunity this is something to discuss with your Local Fundraising Manager.
