About this event:

Philharmonic Brass is a new venture set up by Matthew Green and a group of musician friends who want to fundraise for Cancer Research UK by creating unique musical events and occasions. The endsmble is predominantly made up of professional musicians from the Royal Marines Band Service, who are very accustomed to playing at top venues across the country, such as the Royal Albert Hall, combined with other very experienced brass players from bands such as the 'Cory Band' (world's number 1 ranked brass band). Also amongst the players will be brass specialists who represent companies such as 'Besson Instruments' and 'Willson Instruments'. Every single musician is giving up their time and talent for free so that we can raise as much as possible.

On the day:

The first ever concert for Philharmonic Brass will be at the stunning Exeter Cathedral. We have taken a traditional brass band ensemble, expanded it, added instruments such as French Horns and a rhythm section, therefore giving us much more versatility with what we want to play. Our first concert will feature brass band music, orchestral music, big band music, pop music, music to make you think, music to help you relax, and definitely music to make you smile!
