About this event:
Join us for the first ‘hair-raising’ event in the Cancer Cut-a-thon Challenge. Grow and then donate your hair and support research into Pancreatic cancer funded by Cancer Research UK. You'll need at have least 7 inches of hair to donate to take part. The challenge organiser Kate says "When my friend and I had cancer 4 years ago we both shaved our heads, donated the hair and raised £32,000 for cancer charities". Your hair will be donated to the Little Princess Trust which creates wigs for children and young people who have lost their hair through chemotherapy. Kate says " I am Cancer free now and my hair has grown back so it’s going to mean even more for me to cut it all off. Please join me and other donors to make a positive difference to children with cancer and raise money for Cancer Research UK to help continue their vital research".
On the day:
We will have volunteer hairdressers who will help us on the day. For our launch event we'll have the use of the school hall and garden outside if the weather is nice and there’ll be teas & coffee available, bring a picnic! Families are welcome to support donors, we're creating a party atmosphere.
