Join the Bobby Moore Fund squad at The Simplyhealth Great North Run, the UK's biggest and best half marathon.
With an atmosphere like a Tyne-Wear derby, The Simplyhealth Great North Run can't be beaten. It attracts world class athletes like Mo Farah and Haile Gebrselassie, is televised by the BBC, and has over 57,000 other runners taking part.
Bobby Moore Fund
Bobby Moore was just 51 years old when he died. The Bobby Moore Fund for Cancer Research UK was set up by Stephanie Moore MBE, Bobby’s widow, in his memory to fund pioneering, life-saving bowel cancer research.
Since the fund was set up in 1993 mortality rates have fallen by more than 30% and over £26.7 million has been raised for research, but we still have so much more to do.
Race day information
Cancer Research UK be there on the day, ready and waiting to cheer on all the Bobby Moore runners, so make sure you look out for all the cheering points along the course. Once you have finished, why not swing by the post race reception where we can provide you with some food & drink and thank you in person.

Professor Dan Longley at Queen's University Belfast is exploring whether treatments that harness the power of our immune system to fight cancer could be used to treat people with advanced bowel cancer, when chemotherapy proves inneffective.
