2021 Great East Run

Great East Run
Half marathon

Important event update

Unfortunately the Great East Run will not be taking place in 2021....Confirmation of 2022 dates will be announced soon.

Take on the inaugural Great East Run and explore all that Ipswich has to offer like never before!

The event follows a fast flat course so it's great for runners attempting the distance for the first time and those looking to set a new personal best time.

You will start and finish in the shadows of the famous Portman Road stadium, home to Ipswich Town. Along the 13.1 mile route you will pass many of the town’s most iconic landmarks including the Willis Building and the Orwell Bridge. You will get the chance to running along the town’s vibrant waterfront before racing down Sir Alf Ramsey Way to the cheers of an adoring crowd.

Thanks to research, over 400 people now survive cancer every day. This progress has only been possible thanks to the support of people like you. There’s good reason for optimism, but we can’t stop until everyone can live free from the fear of cancer.
