The Cancer Research UK Wyre Forest Committee has been active for more than 50 years and has raised almost £700,000 for the charity. We raise funds by organising events, large and small, from donations from other like-minded fundraisers – often individuals who have been touched in some way by cancer - and from in memoriams.

We are always looking for new ways of involving Wyre Forest residents and at the same time making sure we enjoy what we are doing. Our biennial dinners have been supported by guest speakers including Sir Tim Rice, Chris Tarrant, (our chairman invented Tiswas!), Barry Norman, Michael Brunson and Nick Owen. High profile cancer research scientists and clinicians support us as guest speakers at our annual lunch, which is always a sell-out.

We also organise smaller events such as jazz nights and gardeners’ question time evenings, plus tin collections at venues such as the popular Shelsley Walsh Speed Hill Climb and supermarkets. We are happy to talk to you about any aspect of our work and if you think you can help us in any way, please get in touch. We promise no pressure – just a warm welcome.
