Facebook Challenge - Image Use Terms & Conditions

How will my photo be used?

By responding “Yes” to our Facebook request, you acknowledge and agree to the following:

1.    You grant Cancer Research UK (CRUK) a royalty free, perpetual, worldwide licence to use your Photo(s) for any purpose in any media (including without limitation newspapers and magazines, advertisements, publications, marketing materials, corporate communications, websites, television, radio and social media) for an unlimited time. The Photo(s) may be used to promote CRUK and its work both within the charity and to the public including through advertising, fundraising, health campaigns and education. CRUK may also decide to not use the Photo(s) at all. 

2.    We may alter, cut, add to and/or edit your Photo(s) in any manner, and/or combine your Photo with other materials, without seeking further permission from you. Third parties may use, edit and/or reproduce the Photo(s) in the course of supporting CRUK and its work. 

3.    You agree that (i) you own the copyright and waive any moral rights in the Photo(s), or that you have obtained all necessary rights, consents and/or waivers from the owner to upload the Photo(s) to grant the rights set out in these Terms and Conditions; (ii) you are the person featured in the Photo(s) and/or you have permission from any person(s) appearing in your Photo(s) (and, if they are under 16, their parent or legal guardian as well) to grant the rights set out in these Terms and Conditions; (iii) you are 18 years or older; and (iv) our use of your Photo(s) in accordance with these Terms and Conditions will not violate any other rights of any third party or any law.

4.    CRUK will keep all Photo(s) and use them for such period as it considers appropriate (usually 5 years). After this point we will continue to store the Photo(s) for our historical record but will contact you again to ask your permission should we wish to re-use them.  

5.    In connection with the Photo(s), CRUK or its appointed agency may collect, store and use your personal information. You can read our privacy policy at cancerresearchuk.org/privacy-statement for more information.
