Boy band hotties The Wanted, along with TV heart throb Ricky Whittle and Heart’s Toby Anstis, have whipped off their tops to encourage women across the UK to sign up for Tesco and Cancer Research UK Race for Life series via an exciting new ‘E-male’ app, which launched on the 3rd March 2011.

Women who want to see a bit of cheeky flesh can pick, personalise and share their favourite celebrity with friends and family via the ‘E-male’ app. The ‘E-male’ can be sent through the Race for Life website or via the Race for Life Facebook page through the dedicated ‘E-male’ tab www.facebook.com/raceforlife. The charity hopes that by sharing the app, women will be encouraged to ‘join the girls’ and sign up for Race for Life events that take place across the UK this summer.

The Wanted said: “We were chuffed to be asked to strip off and support such a fantastic event as Race for Life 2011. This ‘E-male’ campaign is a really easy and fun way for all the ladies out there to get their friends and family to sign up to this amazing event and help Cancer Research UK to beat cancer.”

Ricky Whittle said: “I was thrilled to be asked whip my top off to show my support for all the amazing ladies out there who are taking part in Race for Life 2011. There’s no excuse now, make sure you get your girls together this year and sign up to Race for Life 2011 today!”

Natasha Dickinson, head of Race for Life said: “It’s really fantastic to have The Wanted, Ricky Whittle and Toby Anstis involved in this exciting new ‘E-male’ campaign. We wanted to create a really fun and personal way to encourage ladies out there to sign up to the Race for Life 2011 series, pass the message on to their friends and family and help us to make it our most successful series yet.”

Race for Life is the UK’s largest women-only fundraising event where women of all ages and fitness levels come together and simply walk, jog or run 5k to help beat cancer. Millions of women have raised an incredible £362 million since the series began.

2011 is a really ambitious year for Race for Life. This year the aim is to raise £80million to help fund the charity’s life saving work into all cancers. Women can enter the event now at www.raceforlife.org or by calling 0871 641 1111.
