  • Hi Mandy51

Welcome to the forum although obviously I'm sorry to hear about your diagnosis.

Waiting for results from tests can be a really worrying time and I know that lots of members here will understand just how difficult the not knowing can be. Hopefully you won't have to wait too much longer now for some of your questions to be answered and for the Consultant to talk about treatment options with you.

We have quite a large number of ladies here on the fourm who have or have had breast cancer. You can find lots of posts using the search function at the top of this page where you'll be able to chat with members such as [@Jolamine]‍ and [@Magpiemaggie]‍.

Once you know more about your diagnosis we can signpost you to information if it would be helpful or if you'd rather speak to one of our team of nurses in the meantime you're welcome to call them. They're available Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm on 0808 800 4040.

Keep in touch Mandy. We know that this is a scary time but the community here will do their best to support you.

    Best wishes,

    Hi Mandy,

Welcome to the forum, although I'm sorry for the reason that you've joined. What stage are you at with your investigations? Waiting for test results is always a scary time and we nearly all suspect the worst at this stage. Fortunately, this seldom turns out to be the case.

Try to steer clear from google until you know exactly what you are dealing with. Even when you do know, you are better to stick to the more respected sites, such as this one. Do your best to keep busy at the moment. This should help to distract you from the wait.

I have has 2 bouts of breast cancer 9 and 10 years ago respectively. I have had a lumpectomy and a double mastectomy. If I can help you in any way please feel free to ask any questions.

When are you due to get your results? I hope that you don't have too long to wait.

Please keep in touch and let us know how you get on. We are always here for you

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx

  • Hi Mandy

I'm glad [@Jolamine]‍ has responded - she was a huge help to me when I was going through BC last year. This must be a very worrying time for you, Its perfectly normal to be stressed out, anxious etc. I remember when I was having chest pain following diagnosis and had to ask GP for diazipan to calm me down- which was a great help. I stopped taking then once I knew what it was I was dealing with and also once the treatment plan was in place. I also had a MRI but had a lot of pain in my face rather than my breasts, I think its down to the position your lying in rather than anything worrying.

There is no shame in asking for extra help from your GP/breast team if you're struggling. Make full use of them, there is also help at 'maggies' centres if there is one near you and last but not least there are some great BC ladies on here only to willing to listen and support.
