  • Hi,

You are certainly on a fast moving emotional roller coaster. I don't know what's worse - waiting for ages for diagnostic tests or being rushed through them at high speed.

Under normal circumstances, consultations are almost always face to face whether or not the news is good or bad but circumstances across the NHS are far from normal. I'd not read anything into the fact a phone consultation has been arranged - especially as more tests are due next week.

    Good luck!

    Dave

  • Hello there and thanks for posting

I am sorry to hear about the symptoms your husband has had and the speed of these tests must be a worry for you.

Unfortunately no one here can say what is going on but it does seem the doctors are taking this very seriously and are running a series of tests to give them the information they need.

I'm afraid I don't know what the doctor will say on the phone call. These days doctors will communicate news to patients in a variety of different ways so try and sit tight for now and see what they have to say tomorrow.

Do get back if you wish or give us a call on 0808 800 4040 if you prefer, we're here weekdays 9-5.

Wishing you both the very best

    Take care

    Naomi

  • Hello Laurenjordan and thanks for getting back

I am so sorry to hear about your difficult experiences with cancer for both your young daughter and dad, so it is unsurprising you are feeling so anxious at the moment.

In a way it is good that things have moved so quickly for your husband and hopefully you will know more about what needs to happen soon.

A shadow on the lungs often refers to a misty abnormal area seen on a imaging scan. Often these areas can be difficult to define but can sometimes be mentioned alongside something else such as a nodule. A nodule describes a small lump or mass often made up of cells that can either be benign (not cancer) or cancerous.

I hope this helps a little

    Take care
