Treatment

Hi. Im new to the forum. I have pleural mesothelioma. I haven’t had any treatment yet. I am a risk with chemo because I had a stroke in 2010. Has anyone heard of, had, or been offered Mistletoe therapy for this cancer?  My nurse has never heard of it in trials for mesothelioma.Another treatment for this cancer,is Immunotherapy, but again has not been tried here in the uk.Has anyone been offered to try this, as I would like to if it’s possible.

  • Hello Liz35,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. I am sorry to hear that you have been diagnosed with pleural mesothelioma and are at risk with chemotherapy as a result of the stroke you had in 2010. I think it is important to talk through your options with your specialist who will be best placed to tell you about treatments or trials that may be available to you and which would be suitable to you given your medical history. So do talk to your specialist about what the next treatment steps might be for you and for example if immunotherapy would be an option.

Our nurses are also available on this free number 0808 800 4040 if you have any questions - you can call them Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm.

I hope you get some answers soon and that you will also hear from other members here who have been in a similar situation.

    Best wishes,
