Hi Hun xx
I’m not medically qualified at all and so can’t speak on behalf of the wonderful forum nurses xx but I would think it may be difficult for them to comment without having examined you. It’s likely nothing but always best to get these things checked out by your GP, even if just for peace of mind so you can get on with things without the worry. You can ask your surgery for a female GP to see you too xx
Hi chick, please go to the Dr’s, they’ll be pleased to check you over and reassure you rather than you worrying.
Its probably a small cyst or blocked follicle but best see the Dr. To put your mind at rest and if there is anything (unlikely) you’ll have picked it up early when small.
Wishing you love and best wishes.
Hi, I would not be too worried as I had exactly the same thing a few months back and went to my lady doctor who reassured me straight away that it was a blocked duct and there were lots of little sweat follicles that can fill up with liquid in that area and that it would simply go away which it did in about a week or so. It still might be worth getting it checked if you are worrying.
Hi thanks for your reply,i am a worryer anyway and always think the worst.I've had it around a month but could be longer I can't really remember it's so small it feels more like a tiny bit of gristle than a lump, how long was Urs there?was yours in your outta lips aswell?I'm thinking I might leave it an see if it gets bigger then I'll definitely go I gave to feel around to find it as it's so small.I gave Googled and it says it's rare it people under 60 to get vulval cancer and I'm only 37 uv made me feel a lot better thanks x
Thank you for posting a question. I am sorry to learn that you are concerned about a lump.
As a couple of our other members suggested, it is really only a health professional who can look at the lump who can say what it is. Although I cannot know for sure, on balance, cancer is unlikely. This is because vulva cancer is rare and it is very rare indeed in women who are premenopausal. Of the small number of women who develop cancer of the vulva, most are over 60. Also, although some women with this condition can have a lump often there are other symptoms as well.
I am wondering if this is a Bartholin's cyst, but I could be wrong about this so, it would be a good idea to get checked at your GP surgery. I can appreciate that this may be embarrassing, but nurses and doctors look at all parts of the body. It is their job and they will do their best to put you at ease. So do get this looked at to be on the safe side.
I hope this helps a little. Do get back to us if you have any other questions. If you would like to telephone our freephone number is 0808 800 4040 and the lines are open from 9am till 5pm Monday to Friday.
All the best,
Hi for a
Thanks for your reply youve made me feel a lot better I gave been worrying about cancer.but as you said it is very rare,I gave booked an apointment for not this weds next I did ask for a lady doctor but was told I had to have my male doctor so I'll just gave to go and see him. X
Hi I went to the doctors as I was stressing myself out and neended to put my mind at rest it wasn't nowhere near as embarrassing as I was thinking.he said it's a blocked sebacious gland and to go back if it gets alot bigger.it's still there but it hasn't changed.its yours in the same place?mine looks like an oval shape and is small prob about 3 mil long I hope this had put your mind at rest if u go to the docs please let me know what they say x
Mines a bit oval and it's right on the edge on the inside I noticed it a few month ago and forgot about it until I noticed it again...not going to lie I'm rubbish at looking after myself my smear is 2 years over so I'll try and get them both done at the same time..thanks for the reply x
Yes mines on the edge to but I can move it around yes go and get ur smear done then u can mention that at the same time a doctor will prob have to look though not sure if the nurse will be able to say what it is x
My doctors only offered a telephone consultation and basically told me not to worry and if I become further concerned to phone again...impossible place to get an appointment it's still there for me to
Thats terrible that you can't get an apointment, they can't think it's anything then, but you'd think they would check it.i felt a bit stupid I went in with the nuse first then the doctor came in the nurse was saying that I done the right thing getting it checked then when the doc came in he felt it an laughed an said it's tiny.an come back if it gets alot bigger,it is small but I felt it so can't be that small,it's about 3 millimetres long,an i was really worried about it.least you have called them it's prob the same as there saying what I've got don't know how long they last I don't think mines going to just go it's been there ages x
