Hi. I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer 3 years ago. Last year I was told it has spread to my lungs. It's slow growing at the moment but am struggling as I feel well apart from normal aches and pains! Hard going this!
Yes it is hard going, possibly because we are not just dealing with the symptoms, but with the psychological fallout from cancer too.
I am so sorry to hear that it has spread to your lungs. If you are still feeling well, my advice would be to try and live life as normally as possible. Do you have any hobbies? I took up photography a few years ago.
This has been a boon to me, as it helps to make my days shorter and gives me an interest which isn’t too strenuous - I am constantly tired so I cannot follow more active interests any longer.
Yes it's definitely the psychological thing that's hardest! I try to carry on as normal as possible. I am still in work which helps! Thanks for your reply it means a lot.
