Throat biopsy - how do you cope with wait for results?

Hi Al, nice to hear from you and so pleased everything is going in the right direction, sorry to hear about the covid and dvt, I'm sure the blood thinners will do their job and you have your Florida holiday. I've got everything crossed for your scan and will be thinking of you.

Hi Al. Don't stress about the results you can't influence them so why stress. It's extremely rare our treatment fails. Ok there's a chance if hot spots remaining they will either re scan a few months later or do a biopsy. Kniw a few who have gone down that road.

Hi Hazel,

Thanks for the positive words. You are right of course but I'm actually more stressed about not being able to go to Florida if I have to have more treatment.....Laugh

Throat biopsy - how do you cope with wait for results?

Hi Hazel/Jo/Sue,

Just wanted to let you know I received the results of my PET scan this morning and they are showing all clear!!.......doctors are very pleased with my progress and I should be getting my PEG removed soon. MyMacmillan nurse called me and was almost as happy as I was but I could barley speak because I was sobbing so much! Laugh....I'm over the moon but know I still have a long way to go before I am fully recovered but this is a great start.

My taste is slowly slowly returning but my jaw gets very tired if I chew too much. I still get the Death Valley Mouth most days but I am drinking buckets of water to counteract that.

Now to sort out this bloody DVT in my leg before my Florida holiday! (Hazel you were right!, I will be going to the ball!). My throat has been really sore this week but thats because I overdid it at the weekend celebrating my birthday.....lesson learned

I'm so happy I can't really put it in to words....apart from my daughter being born this is the happiest day of my life. What a fantastic belated birthday present!

Hope you are all doing ok?

Al

Hi sue in now just over 4 years snd just returned from Spain all good with me still have issues with spicy food and odd spells of dry mouth. Do you have acid reflux as it's a common side effect that can cause inflammation.
fungers x and let us know

Hi Hazel, glad all is going well for you, hope you had an amazing time in Spain.

yes I'm suffering terribly acid reflux which I've never had before, my last 3 month check was all fine this time they did biopsies, hopefully all ok but if not I will deal with it when time comes, it's the waiting to find out I struggle with, took weeks at the beginning to tell me I had some abnormal cells but they had removed them all and no further treatment was needed just 3 monthly checks. Hopefully won't have to wait as long this time seen as how lockdown is over.

take care and huge hugs back

On hold with gp now, hopefully they have had email from consultant and I can get something for it. We have had heating on a couple of times now but on the whole it's still quite mild, you will be feeling the difference after being in Spain. Got everything crossed all is still well with you on the 6th, I'm sure it will be. Good luck and keep us posted.
