Hello.
So 3 weeks ago my mum ended up in hospital after being in and out of consciousness all day. I was told by mum's MacMillan nurse she has months left. Mum doesn't want to know her prognosis but she was more than happy for me to know.
Anyway she came home from hospital stay after five days. Catheterised because of 5 fractures in her spine. Since being home she has declined. Her breathing is worse although still going in the kitchen from living room but really struggling with her breathing. Shes sleeping a lot more. She currently has a chest infection but Ive read a for a lot of people it's turned into pneumonia.
Had a doctor round yesterday because we thought she had broken a rib and was in agony. The doctor didn't confirm it was she just said bone pain. Which I know is basically bone cancer. When mum was discharged from hospital it did say on the dischsrge form that she has bone mets but no doctor had told us, I asked the MacMillan nurse to check and she said there was no reports to say she has bone mets. I'm confused.
My mum has an appointment with her consultant at the start of next month. She thinks she's going to be going (she's housebound) and she thinks he'll hopefully magiclly say she can have more chemo.
It's getting hard because one minute she's saying she knows she's not going to be here much longer but next shes talkng about more chemo and remedies. I no longer think it's months either.
