  • Hi Ian.M and welcome to the Cancer Chat community.

I'm so pleased to hear you've been cancer free for 3 years now although I'm sorry about the worries and fears you've been having about your cancer coming back.

I can't begin to imagine how tough it must be to have this lingering at the back of your mind but I hope it helps to know that many of our members have contended with similar thoughts when their cancer journeys have come to an end so you're not alone and hopefully some of them will be along soon to offer their support and advice.

If you'd like to discuss this with one of our cancer nurses, they're just a phone call away on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m.

    Kind regards,

    Steph, Cancer Chat Moderator

  • Oh goodness me! Of course it’s normal! When someone is bitten by a dog as a child their often afraid of dogs all their life. The thing is you have to acknowledge the worry and set it aside and try not to let it ruin the here and now. I try to think that cancer could happen to anyone at any time not just me because I’ve had it. But of course if there’s anything specific and physical you’ve got to get it checked! Every day is a blessing… don’t ruin it unnecessarily. I love reading g Desiderata when I’m low. I hope you’ve friends to off load to. And hobbies to keep you occupied. Wising you well!
