Open water marathon swimmer Sarah Thomas finished treatment for breast cancer a year ago and returned to the water for an astonishing feat.
Starting on Sunday, Sarah swam the English Channel four times non-stop in just 54 hours and 10 minutes, the first person to do so. She completed her swim early this morning. Sarah, who is from Colorado, USA, described using swimming as a way of coping with treatment and dedicated her achievement to “all the survivors out there”.
Sarah faced strong tides during the final leg and swam around 130 miles. We think a day in bed is well deserved for being so inspiring.
